Sustainable heating with Nano Technology

What is Nano Infrared?

Nano technology is a technology that uses and manipulates very small particles. This has the effect of greatly enhancing existing technology. Because of the unique characteristics in combation with infrared heating it is now possible to reduce the energy consumption when this technology is used.

Degree-n has developed a combination of Nano and Infrared Technology with which the existing technology has greatly improved. Nano technology enables us to modify the existing structure of materials. By applying this to existing infrared technology Degree-n managed to develop a dispersion that is optimized to produce as much infrared radiation as possible with the input provided.

The result is a solution with a very low energy consumption. 

Carbon Nano Tubes

Degree-n is specialized in the development and application of Carbon Nano Tubes (CNT). CNT is ultimately suitable for durable and sustainable solutions because of the high thermic conducting characteristics (15 times greater than copper), capacity (1000 times larger than copper) and the fact that there is no physical decay. CNT is not hazardous to both humans and animals.

Nano Infrared heating

Nano Infrared heating panels directly heat mass by radiation instead of heating air. Objects in the room heat up because they absorb this radiation. The heat is then exchanged with the air that flows past them. Nano Infrared heating has no “distribution loss” because the energy is not conducted through any piping or guidance system but is directly applied to the volume in which they are placed.

The result is a very efficient and extremely durable heating solution that is capable of heating any volume consistently and comfortably.

Temperature criteria

Nano Infrared heating evenly distributes the heat. Because objects absorb the radiation there are virtually no temperature differences within a single room. The air temperature in any volume can be up to 4°C lower than in a situation with traditional heating while the room temperature is still perceived comfortable.

Nano Infrared heating vs. traditional heating

Traditional heating systems operate on the basis of air distribution: air is transporting the heat. A traditional central heating system moves energy from the heater through pipes and tubes to the radiators. During this process a significant amount of energy is lost (distribution loss). When air is the carrier of heat, this stimulates air circulation. Warmer air rises and gives way to cooler air that passes past and through the radiators and is in turn heated up as well. Because the energy is transported through the air this means objects in the room stay relatively cold. In addition, the air circulation also causes dust to distribute as well which could cause health issues.
